Our research is driven by Questions.  We aim to discover fundamental principles governing how our antibody response recognizes foreign viral pathogens and targets neutralizing epitopes to knock-out the threat.  For this we optimize and develop the most effective methodologies that address our goals and enable us to meet the challenges they demand.

Overall Research Approach:

We critically study the structural aspects of antibody binding to its cognate epitope.  For this we interrogate the antibodies with comprehensive combinatorial phage display peptide libraries.  The affinity selected peptides are taken as a database, that through computational analyses, reveal the intricasies of the bound epitope.  This allows the discovery of neutralizing epitopes, the correlates of effective immunity and guides the rationale design of novel immunogens.
